One daughter flat on her back

Woe! Woe! Poor Nicky has hurt her back again. Having taken a year to recover from her last disastrous episode and just managing to get back into reasonable physical activity, her back twanged again. What bad luck! I really feel for her. We drove up to the physio today who popped her sacri-something joint back in again so things aren't as bad as they were. Poor Nicky is spending the day flat on her back again for most of it. I am hoping she will be well enough to sing at the 'Wild Fig' on Sunday night as I am having dinner there with a group of friends. Not much fun to be so incapacitated when you are so young and so active.

Bathroom renovation hassles

Some people have asked me why my bathroom renovations are taking so long. Here is the answer:

DAY 1: Man #1 arrives to demolish the bathroom. He spends 6 hours working and now there's no turning back. I have no bathroom.
DAY 2: Man #2 arrives and spends 4 hours working
DAY 3: Man #3 arrives and spends 2 hours working.
DAY 4: Man #4 arrives and spends 1 hour working until he runs out of supplies and takes off to the shop to buy what he requires. He never returns.
DAY 5: Man #4 returns rapidly followed by the Supervisor who brings the materials that man #4 was meant to have purchased the day before. They spend 2 hours chatting and staring at the work done so far and then go home.
DAY 6 and 7 are the weekend
DAY 8: No one turns up as Man #4 has called in sick (He has had a rough weekend and needs the Monday to sober up)
DAY 9: The Supervisor turns up and asks where Man #4 is. He rings Man #4 and discovers that he is now working on another job.
DAY 10: Man #5 turns up but goes away again because he can't do what he has to because Man #4 hasn't finished........

I am sure that my bathroom will eventually get finished!
